Low FODMAP Star Fruit, Strawberry, and Coconut Smoothie Bowl

If you crave a smoothie bowl, you may want to try this raw food recipe! This smoothie bowl contains star fruit, coconut puree and lastly a generous serving of strawberries!

If you've never tried a smoothie bowl before, I encourage you to have go making one. Especially if you love ice cream! A smoothie bowl e great breakfast or brunch option. Best part of all is that they take less than 5 minutes to make

Its important to keep an eye on portion size when following a low FODMAP diet, even when it comes to fruit. Fortunately, strawberries are low FODMAP and can be eaten with careless abandon! Making this smoothie bowl especially suited to those sensitive to fructose. Its also a good choice for those of us with Celiac disease, IBS, wheat allergy or gluten sensitivity.

Frozen strawberries give this bowl its beautiful red colour. Freezing the strawberries first prevents the mixture from melting and turning to mush, even on a hot summers day.

I topped this smoothie bowl with crunchy star fruit. They have a very pleasant, sweet & fruity taste that goes very well with coconut!

I also decorated my smoothie bowl with gogyi berries, shredded coconut and slithers of pistachios. As well as being super pretty to look this combination has a nice taste too!

What fruit will you choose to decorate your smoothie bowl? You can unleash your creativity with your own toppings. I've listed out a few FODMAP friendly topping options to get you started.

If you decide to give this recipe a go, please share your thoughts, pictures and recipe tweaks. Good luck!

Notes before we get started!

This recipe makes approximately 1 large bowl (medium bowl pictured) of smoothie.

I'm a big fan of simple recipes that don't need fancy equipment. For this recipe it does help to have a good blender.
